and yet another entry this month. Not a playmobil topic though. After detailed planning I finally “gave” Masumi her birthday present in the form of a weekend trip to Kusatsu. A famous onsen area in the middle of Gunma Prefecture (~100 km northwest of Tokyo). I did not know that the merry message “snow” did not refer [...] Saaamuiiii – was actually the only thing I got out from Masumi and Mashu (who stayed over for a few days) this weekend. Before they both declared me crazy, one jumping back into bed, the other drinking hot tea repeating this word over and over again. And yes, the insane foreigner (namely: me) took his camera, scarf, gloves [...] While last year I celebrated the New Year in European style, this year I did it the Japanese way. For the following it is important to note that this is Masumi’s family and their way of celebrating New Year. In various regions of Japan the ingredients, dishes, order etc. are completely different and I am not aware [...] |
